Innerlight Engineering Corporation (IEC) is seeking qualified candidates to join our Civil Engineering team in Miramar Beach, Florida. This position is perfect for emerging civil engineers with 0-4 years of experience who are motivated and who have the desire to learn something new every day. The successful candidate will work under the direction of senior civil engineers on a wide variety of project types. This is a full-time, salaried position. Roles and Responsibilities:
As an up and coming Civil Engineer your role is to work with our team of engineers and land surveyors both in the office and in the field to complete a wide variety of civil infrastructure, residential subdivisions, and commercial site development projects. Some of the anticipated duties will include:
- Due Diligence and Conceptual Engineering Design
- Perform detailed 2D and 3D Civil Engineering designs utilizing the latest in BIM for Civil Engineering design software.
- Prepare Construction Drawings including Site Plans, Grading and Drainage Plans, Utility Plans, Demolition Plans, Erosion Control Plans, Roadway and Utility Profiles, Cross Sections, and Construction Details.
- Prepare stormwater calculations and reports
- Prepare minor Traffic Engineering analyses and reports
- Prepare permitting packages for local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
- Prepare construction cost estimates
- Coordinate with Owners and Contractors during the Bidding and Construction project phases
- Provide field inspections and post-construction certifications for civil infrastructure and stormwater projects
- Coordinate with and assist the IEC Survey team as needed for preliminary and construction phase surveys
- Coordinate with external development project team members such as Architects, Geotechnical Engineers, Structural Engineers, etc.
Preferred Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering (or expected within one year)
- Passed the FE Examination and received EI / EIT Certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel
- Ability to speak and write professionally
- Good interpersonal communication skills, commitment to deadlines, and positive team attitude
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the fast-paced land development industry
- US Citizen or Legal Resident (foreign sponsorship not offered)
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license
Other Beneficial Qualifications:
The following skills and attributes are not required but will be considered a significant benefit for candidates:
- Experience in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic design software such as ICPR, Hydraflow Extensions for Civil 3D, and/or Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis (SSA)
- Advanced level of experience computer software techniques applicable to the civil engineering profession, such as iterative calculations in Microsoft Excel or custom applications in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with GIS software
- Prior experience with the Florida regulatory processes (Development Orders, FDEP regulations and permits, FDOT permits, etc.)
- Prior experience in construction, contracting, and/or land surveying
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
